The Chelan Douglas Regional Port Authority collaborates on economic development projects with the cities and local government municipalities within both Chelan and Douglas Counties, as well as serving as a catalyst for business, industrial, commercial, and tourism development within its dynamic region.
The Chelan Douglas Regional Port Authority takes its fiscal responsibility of taxpayer dollars very seriously and works in a transparent manner to maintain the community’s trust.
The Chelan Douglas Regional Port Authority’s work is guided by initiatives, development plans, and directives, which are identified in the following documents, as well as in project-specific master plans. These plans are developed in an open process, involving partners and the public. Plans are then formally approved by the Board of Directors, consisting of three commissioners from the Port of Chelan County and three commissioners from the Port of Douglas County.

The Chelan Douglas Regional Port Authority’s mission is to create a foundation for private sector economic growth, retain and create living-wage jobs, and enhance the economic wellbeing of the residents of Chelan and Douglas Counties.
A FOCUS ON FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY
The property tax levy-rate continues to decrease for both the Port of Chelan County and the Port of Douglas County (helping keep millions of dollars in our citizen’s pockets); however, the number of investments and assets the Chelan Douglas Regional Port Authority manages on behalf of its bi-county constituents continues to increase.
The Chelan Douglas Regional Port Authority strategically focuses on projects that generate resources beyond property taxes, which can be used to create additional community benefits and drive further economic development in Chelan & Douglas Counties.
